PaintCare Program Starts in Washington April 1, 2021
Effective April 1, 2021, new fees will be added to the sale of all paint (over a half pint) sold in Washington State. The fees will be collected from consumers at point of purchase, and passed on to PaintCare Inc., a non-profit organization created to administer the PaintCare program. The program will operate used paint drop-off sites throughout the state, and facilitate recycling and reuse of the paint.
The fees will be:
Larger than half pint up to smaller than 1 gallon | $0.45 |
1 gallon up to 2 gallons | $0.95 |
Larger than 2 gallons up to 5 gallons | $1.95 |
